Student
Athletes
The purpose of this page is to help students and parents
understand the complexities and rules of college level
intercollegiate athletics. We have found that many
high school students, their parents and even their
coaches have very little or no knowledge of college
athletics. Understanding what the divisions and
each of their rules and regulations involve can help you
not only determine where and at what level a student
athlete might play but help avoid mistakes that can
effect those choices and even the eligibility of the
athlete.
Division Information
The first section of links is designed to help you
access information on the various divisions of play, the
rules surrounding them and the vagaries of what is
allowed and not allowed at each level. Some even offer
information on what students and parents can expect from
the recruiting process and how to keep it under control
and how to make it work for you. Also information is
also available that will give some insights on the level
of performance and talent required at each level of play
– this will help the student athlete develop a realistic
understanding of where they are competitive.

The second section gives you
direct links to athletic information on all of our members who have
intercollegiate sports and also on those intramural sports that are
available. This will allow you to see which colleges offer athletic
programs that complement the student athlete’s choice of sports and
level of play. In addition, you can see the full range of athletics
available to students and the variety of opportunities available to
them.
